Free CE Credits from Manufacturers & Distributors

  • DentalCare.com (Crest & Oral B) has more than 150 free CE courses, ranging from 1 to 5 credit hours on a wide variety of topics for dental professionals of all kinds, including courses for dental students and office managers. (Check out their free CE here)

  • The Colgate Oral Health Network has 200+ free on-demand CE units, all of which can be accessed on a mobile device, for learning on the go. They also offer a variety of other CE-related features, like a CE tracker, a customized CE plan, a large library of articles and webinars, and more. (Check out their free CE here)

  • HuFriedy Group offers a variety of free CE, including both on-demand webinars and live CE programs. These free CE units range from 0.5 to 1.5 credits, and their most-populated category includes CE on Instrument Management Systems and Infection Control. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Benco Dental offers one of the larger varieties of CE for dental professionals, with live CE webinars nearly daily, and have a library of more than 950+ on-demand webinars for self-study CE credit. There are also 250+ product tutorials available. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Dentsply Sirona has an easy-to navigate database of CE courses—which it calls The Academy—that include live interactive webinars, on-demand self-study sessions, and in-person sessions as well. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Weave offers a one of the most business-focused libraries of free on-demand CE, with videos covering topics from practice management to dental practice marketing. With these self-study options, you simply watch a video and pass a quiz to receive your CE credits. (Check out their free CE here)

  • VOCO’s Learning site offers both live interactive and on-demand self-study webinars for free. They even have several CE podcasts that offer partial (< 1.0) CE credits for listening. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Glidewell offers a mix of clinical and business-focused self-study CE credit opportunities. Most are 1-1.5 credits, and all are available on-demand. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Young Dental’s Young Education System (YES!) includes frequent live interactive webinars, on-demand self-study learning, as well as group and event CE credit opportunities, all free. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Waterpik has eight free self-study courses, each worth 2-3 credits. (Check out their free CE here).


Free CE From Others

  • The American Dental Association (ADA) has a searchable database of 370+ free CE courses, so you can find exactly what you need. Credits are offered in a variety of formats too, including self-study, hands on/participation, live virtual, lecture & participation, and standard lecture. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Viva Learning offers a large selection of free CE, including live, interactive and self-study options. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Dental CE Academy has 80 hours worth of CE available at no cost. They have a schedule of live CE webinars offered nearly every day, (Check out their free CE here)

  • CDE World/ Inside Dentistry has frequent live webinars that offer interactive CE credits, but be careful which you sign up for: some of the webinars listed do NOT offer CE credit. (Check out their free CE here)

  • DC Clinical has a few live free CE sessions per month, as well as a library of archived past sessions for on-demand self-study. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Pankey Institute has a monthly live webinar that counts for 1 CE credit. (Check out their free CE here)


Almost-Free CE

  • Any professional memberships you maintain (associations, societies, academies and other groups) may include their own free CE. For example, members of the Academy of General Dentistry can redeem their free CE credits here. (Check out their CE here)

  • Many dental schools offer CE courses at a discounted rate for alumni. Check with your alma mater for available CE opportunities.

  • 3M may also offer some free CE credit through the 3M Health Care Academy. Create an account to view available courses. (Check out their CE here)

  • Dental Town has 500+ CE credit opportunities online, but the ~120 of them are “free to view” have a small fee to receive the credits, generally around $35, which isn’t far off from the cost of their paid CE courses. (Check out their free CE here)

  • Concord Seminars has 7 different 3-credit CE webinars available for on-demand viewing, each less than $100. (Check out their CE here)
